The Church Network is coming to Raleigh-Durham, NC, area for National Church Administration Day. This year's theme is Technology. Join us as we hear from experts in the field and learn about how the changing world of technology can help and equip you as you serve in your church.  
Cancellations/Refunds There is a $25 cancellation fee if the request is received before the event begins. After the meeting begins, there is no refund.


Jonathan Smith

Bio: Jonathan Smith has been the director of technology for Faith Ministries since 2001. Jonathan oversees all technology at Faith's multiple campuses. His responsibilities include financial planning and budgeting, network administration, technology team management, IT support and audio/visual team oversight.  In addition to his role at Faith, Jonathan is also the president of MBS, Inc. MBS provides technology services exclusively for churches and ministries.  He is also an author and frequent conference speaker.

  • Session 1 - The Current State of Technology in Ministry
    Technology has become vital to ministry but what is the appropriate place of technology in the church? How technology is used impacts ministry effectiveness.  We will look at how technology is currently being used in ministry and where the trend is heading.  

  • Session 2 - Technology Decision Making
    Many church leaders are unprepared to make technology decisions but find themselves making them every day.  What do you need to know to make wise technology decisions that are not penny wise but pound foolish?

  • Session 3 What’s Hot and Not in Tech
    A discussion of popular and unpopular tech for home, business, ministry, and more!

Chris Barron

Bio: Chris is a Certified Church Facilities Manager with an eye for continuous improvement, diverse knowledge and background that includes most aspects of leading in Facilities Management and Information Technology. His previous work experience includes Technical Writing, Calibrations, leading as the Education Director at the NACFM for 6 years and 8 years as a Submarine qualified Reactor Operator US Navy. 

Topic: Technical Services in Church Facility Management

This session will explore general knowledge as it relates to technical systems found in most church buildings.  We’ll talk about topics such as building equipment, systems, and working with technical contractors, with most of our time focused on low voltage systems related to facilities.

Greg Schutt

Bio: Greg Schutt is a Business Development Officer with Wells Fargo in the Triad. He works with small businesses, medical professionals and non-profits. He strives to help manage banking and cash management efficiently and securely
